Alyson Walsh About Me

I’m Alyson Walsh, a freelance journalist, former magazine fashion editor and author. My new book Know Your Style is out in September. It offers expert advice and tips for women of all ages. I strongly believe that it’s not about age, it’s about style. That looking good is not about buying loads of new stuff but spending time figuring out what makes you feel chic and comfortable and confident.

My first book Style Forever: the grown-up guide to looking fabulous is still available!

I write for the FT’s How To Spend It and the Guardian websites.

That’s Not My Age began in 2008, when I noticed a space online to celebrate women (and men) of all ages. I do use affiliate links, schemes and sponsored posts to generate commission; but I’m discerning and don’t pimp out any old tat.

I love to hear from readers, PRs and fashion experts but simply don’t have the time to reply to every email.  Please contact me at the address below, and I’ll do my best to get back to you:

  1. Hi, I love your blog and have subscribed for several years. I’ve noticed this past year that for awhile I would only get your blog in a monthly digest, then that stopped for about a month and now I’ve not been getting it at all. My email is the same. I just re-entered my email on your website but something seems to be going on. Hopefully, now that I’ve reentered my email, it will continue, but not sure why it stopped in the first place. I might not be the only one too. Best, Noelle

BTW, per your current post on Allure’s anti-ageing story, the current season of Project Runway has also initiated a very strong body positive season. The models are all different shapes and sizes and the designers will work with different models throughout the season. It was interesting how this through many of the designers and how the judges took issue with their attitudes. It’s a very strong statement for the show to make – to celebrate all body types. Of course, if they could add older models that would make it even better.

  2. Alyson, I am having the same problems as the reader above. I had been getting regular blogs, then just occasionally and now not at all. I am listing a different email address if you could subscribe me to this I would be grateful as I am a fan

  3. Hi Alyson,

It was a great pleasure to meet you last night at The White Company. You’re an inspiration for me to keep this blogging thing going! Your book is fantastic, brimming with great advice, you really packed a lot into it. I hope our paths cross again.

    Kind regards,

    Jolain
