The mid-heel boot that’s not middle of the road

This week’s most-wanted is the Showbiz Boot. The mid-heel style that’s not middle-of-the-road. I’m always looking for ways to add a little razzle dazzle to my denim jeans, and keep coming back to this Elmsworth leather boot (above; available HERE). The navy, mock croc style is from Finery, the super-successful online label launched last year by Caren Downie (ex- fashion director at asos.com and buying director at Topshop), Emma Farrow (ex-design director at Topshop) and Rachel Morgans (ex-buying director at asos). As of this Friday, Finery will have concessions in six John Lewis stores (more information HERE), so I might even pop in and try a pair of Showbiz Boots on.

Penelope Chilvers Cubana_B86_Z1 Of course, there’s still the Penelope Chilvers velvet Cubana, perfect for a child of the sixties, such as myself. I like the fact that this seasonless style is available all year-round. The problem, particularly at this time of year, is that a lot of the snazzier styles have a snazzier price tag. For everyday boots that are more affordable and less look-at-me try Seven Boot Lane and Ted and Muffy (formerly Duo boots and I have no idea where they got that name from).
