What to wear when it’s mild in December

When both the Christmas decorations and the daffodils are out, in December, it’s obvious the seasons are mixed up. And so is my wardrobe. Having said, ‘No to faux’, I’ve introduced some Seasonal Blending. A lightweight jacket or coat over a cashmere sweater, or a big scarf and a silk blouse. The image above is Lily & Lionel, the scarf company has branched out and now has a small selection of clothes, including silk shirts. I like the elegant slouchiness. Even though I’m Instagramming Christmas wreaths and decorations like a festive fanatic, with only a couple of small get-togethers to go to, I’m keeping things low-key. No one wants to look like an extra from The Office Christmas special. It’s Casual Glamour all the way. Francesca Amfitheatrof, design director at Tiffany, has got it down pat with her velvet jacket, patterned shirt and jeans – not to mention the statement jewellery:

Me & Em’s blazers aren’t velvet but they are reduced in the sale, navy stretch twill available HERE  and single breasted blazer, available HERE:

For reasonably priced silk shirts, try & Other Stories, available HERE, and Jigsaw (HERE). And there’s Uniqlo for cashmere, I recently bought a men’s crew neck (I preferred the neckline to the women’s version) and & Other Stories is worth a look, too, available HERE.

Dressed down silk and cashmere with some sparkle around the periphery – that’s how I want to dress right now.

How about you?
