Currently listening to: Charles Bradley
There was a brilliant song playing in a local shop, yesterday. And not being a Shazam-r, I asked the assistant what it was. Actually spoke to someone, like in the olden days. Turns out it was Charles Bradley. The 67-year-old former James Brown impersonator who has achieved success in his seventh decade. Funnily enough, I’d recently been talking about ‘The Screaming Eagle of Soul’ with a friend who had seen him in concert, and then last night, he was playing live on BBC6 Music. Three’s a trend and so I am currently, listening to the fantastic new Charles Bradley album Changes (which has a superb cover version of Black Sabbath’s Changes; listen HERE). But my favourite Charles Bradley song is 2011’s brilliant The World (Is Going Up In Flames) – check out his powerful voice and the superior jumpsuit action:
Who are you listening to, right now?
