Quote of the week: Isabel Marant

She’s the cult Parisian designer who spends her weekends in a cabin in a forest with no hot water or electricity. Google her name and hundreds of images of skinny trousers, wedge trainers, western shirts pop up. Isabel Marant’s bohemian, tomboyish, slightly thrown-together style has transformed everyday dressing and made casual glamour the go-to option:

‘You want to look good but you don’t want to spend too much time on it. I always go to things that make me feel comfortable. When I open my cupboard I need some clothes: jeans, flat shoes, a sweatshirt, jumper or t-shirt, a good jacket. I don’t need some clothes to go to awards or whatever, because it’s once a year.’

Let’s give that woman a round of applause.
