Hi Alison – love that coat! Thank you for adding your 2p. It all adds to the inclusivity and visibility of mature women, which is great

I allowed my hair to go grey…..and now….courtesy of covid and not thinking a haircut is worth the risk, I have long hair…..as in below the shoulders long at the age of 61….and I love it. It probably could – in all honesty – so with the ends trimming – but I’m managing with Olaplex and the forgiving nature of my friends for now.

I really enjoyed the feature on Woman’s Hour and agreed with everything you had to say. It really shouldn’t be a “one size fits all” approach , long hair suits some people and not others, however old they are. I do get tired of women having to justify what they do all the time. My hair is currently above shoulder length, I managed to have a cut just before lock down 2. It has a lot of grey now, which I don’t mind but when I can I’ll have some blondeish highlights just to break it up, it seems to work and I like the grey and blonde mix.
Can I also just say, a pet hate of mine is the term “older ladies” – sets my teeth on edge! (Not you but another contributor on same programme!) But really good programme, I really enjoyed listening to you!

Very much enjoyed the feature on Woman’s Hour. I’m 60 and have long hair. I love it and don’t see that ever changing. Still colouring my hair though; I’m not quite ready yet to embrace the grey!
