Talking Ageless Style at Bath in Fashion

The sandy colour of this gorgeous suede coat reminds me of the beautiful limestone buildings in Bath. No doubt I’ll be Instagramming the heck out of the Royal Crescent when I’m there next week. Expect a golden glow to shine across my Insta account. On Thursday, I’ll be talking about Ageless Style, running through my favourite pieces from the Hobbs summer collection and signing copies of my book. There will be coffee and cake and style solutions at the Assembly Rooms, tearooms. And there are still a few tickets available HERE. I had a dream last night that I was doing stand-up comedy (not at Bath in Fashion, though I may throw in the odd anecdote), but I forgot my script and couldn’t remember any of the jokes. It’s not difficult to guess what a psychiatrist would say about that, but this is not going to be a problem next week because everything is planned and I can blather on about style, forever.

Royal Crescent Bath

The Royal Crescent

Bath is such a stunning city, I absolutely love being involved in the annual fashion event. As always, there are loads of fantastic guest speakers: Harper’s Bazaar editor Justine Picardie is talking about ‘Thinking Fashion’, designer Erdem is in conversation with ace journalist Tim Blanks; Barabara Hulanicki, ethical fashion expert Livia Firth and the uber-talented illustrator David Downton are all in town, and there are lots of other events and catwalk shows. This year, I’m determined to get to the American Museum. I’ve heard so many good things about it from friends who’ve visited: wonderful quilts and textiles, gorgeous gardens and the George Washington cake. Can’t wait.

Hobbs outfit: Cecilia coat, available HERE. Sundas trousers, available HERE. Similar silk blouse, HERE.  Lawrence Derby shoe, available HERE.
