That’s Not My Age needs your support

It’s that time of year when finances hover on the horizon like a drone over an area of outstanding natural beauty. And so, a quick reminder about subscribing and supporting That’s Not My Age, financially.
Quite a lot of content on this site is free and I will always keep it that way so that readers who don’t have the money to spare are not excluded. Every paid subscription is valuable for the future of this site and goes towards creating engaging content to inspire and empower women of all ages. Those who are generous enough to subscribe allow this to happen – and to be perfectly honest, last year, without this financial support, I wouldn’t have been able to keep That’s Not My Age going. I would have had to take on more paid freelance work, and doing so means no time for TNMA. So, I owe you all a great big THANK YOU. I do really appreciate my loyal following, from the regulars who feel like old friends in the comments box – to those who seldom comment but have been with me all along.
Your subscriptions allow me to: pay my brilliant, part-time assistant, Helen, a proper wage ( Helen deals with a lot of back-end stuff, organising, negotiating and planning, as well as writing features); introduce variety with freelance contributors – look out for excellent articles written by Adrienne Wyper (How Taste in Fragrance Changes With Age), Nilgin Yusuf (Second Act: Making the most of a midlife pivot) and Judy Rumbold (The Pure Joy of People-Watching) – commission beautiful, professional photography and invest more in the smooth running of the website.
For example – professional photography is a huge expense, I want to show outfits and interviewees in the best possible way, stock library/free photos just don’t show older women in a way that I ( or you) would recognise and mirror selfies aren’t good enough. Shooting our own images is key to sharing looks that you can connect with and (hopefully) feel inspired by…

Quality, consistency and integrity are important to me. I’ve always been really careful about who I work with on commercial collaborations and partnerships (sponsored posts), and I do not run pop-up ads, which means I rely on you, my loyal readers for income. Because of my magazine background and years spent working in the publishing industry, I want this website to look good and for older women to feel inspired and celebrated when they read That’s Not My Age.
There will be more fabulous content throughout 2025, including exclusive subscriber features on personal style, expert fashion tips, style directories, high-end giveaways, discounts, exclusive interviews and the Ask Alyson Q&A. Subscribing gives you access to all these extras – and there will be early access to live events, coming soon! ( You can get an overview of recent subscriber features HERE).
The monthly subscription costs less than a cup of coffee, is much cheaper than a book of first class stamps and doesn’t feature intrusive ads or celebrity clickbait, unlike most magazine websites. It brings you good quality writing and expertise. As well as all the extra features and benefits, subscribers also have the usual content on thatsnotmyage.com which is approx. four to six features per month. This year, in line with inflation, we are raising our subscription price (starting February. Please note: all subscribers will pay the old rate for January) for the very first time and adding an annual discounted rate as follows:
Monthly UK subscription: £4.80 (Sign up for an annual subscription to receive 10% off)
Monthly international subscription: £3
Support That’s Not My Age: £1.25
Subscribe and support That’s Not My Age and gain lots of exclusive content and benefits HERE.
Oh and a quick note: Patreon (the subscriber platform) now allows people to sign-up and follow That’s Not My Age without paying a fee. This does not provide access to any of the exclusive features or benefits, in fact, there are no advantages if you do this. I just want to be clear. No-one benefits! If you have signed up and want to support That’s Not My Age, please consider upgrading to a paid subscription HERE.
Thank you all so much. That’s Not My Age would not exist without you.

Good for you Alyson. I have been a paid subscriber since you introduced this and feel it is very good value. It has never gone up before and therefore of course you have earned a small increase to compensate for extra costs. Your posts are always interesting, enjoyable, reinforcing and ful of good ideas and inspiration. Thank you!
