Lauren Hutton never goes out of style

It’s Fashion Heroine Lauren Hutton. Now aged 75, Hutton has appeared on over 40 Vogue covers and is seen here modelling the new AW19 collection from eco-conscious luxury label Gabriela Hearst, for Harrods Magazine. And no she’s not having a hot flush; merely reminding us in her Autumn Sweater (beautiful song), that it’ll soon be time for the seasonal wardrobe switch-back-over.

Hearst and Hutton were introduced by a mutual friend and instantly bonded over their shared interests in travel, philanthropy and sustainability. ‘I’m always intrigued by women with strong character,’ explains Hearst about the choice to feature Lauren Hutton in her campaigns. ‘I have a fascination with women who have that inner strength and a sense of style – women like Lauren. She may be beautiful, but there is something so strong about her, a fearlessness. She’s not limited by the perception of what a woman should be. She was never limited by that.’

Warning: Hearst’s luxury clothes do come with a luxury price tag – but it’s worth mentioning the designer’s serious eco-credentials. Earlier this year, every part of her retail chain was plastic-free, she uses wool yarns handcrafted in collaboration with Manos de Uruguay, a non-profit co-operative of female artisans and member of the World Fair Trade Organization and encourages a more sustainable approach to style. And she’s friends with Lauren Hutton…
