Mr That’s Not My Age is looking for some new work trousers. Newsflash. Having tried unsuccessfully to go to a Theory sample sale in New York (big queue right down the street, couldn’t be bothered to wait), we’ve decided to opt for the best of British instead. Menswear designer Oliver Spencer’s autumn campaign, shot by Rankin, is FAB. Featuring some of the designer’s favourite people, such as, John Bradbury (top) the drummer from the Specials and ace hairdresser Johnny Sapong (below), it has impressed Mr That’s Not My Age. He likes the idea of the cotton flannel suit trousers and the khaki lambswool and cotton fishtail trousers; the coats and jackets are pretty smart, too. When we get over the jet-lag, we’ll probably pop to the Oliver Spencer store on Lamb’s Conduit Street, which is a great, grown-up place to shop. A crowd-free zone with lots of small independent menswear stores, coffee, books and the Darkroom, too.

I have a fantastic photo of the pair of us in New York taken by Denton Taylor, just awaiting the Blog Widower’s permission to use it…
