Older Models: Stella Tennant
The latest in my Older Models/Beautiful People Who Are Not 20 Anymore series is Stella Tennant. There’s a double dose of the fabulous aristo-model in July’s fashion magazines. Hoorah. As you can see, the Queen of Fashion has been photographed at Kensington Palace for the cover of Harper’s Bazaar – and she’s also modelling in the current issue of Vogue. I’ve told you how much I like Tennant’s posh punk image before, I admire her androgynous, thrown-together style and the fact that the granddaughter of the Duchess of Debo looks like she cuts and dyes her own hair.
There’s a lovely video of Bazaar editor Justine Picardie interviewing her style heroine, on the cover shoot, here. I’d embed it but it requires a password – and I’ve no idea which one.
Here are some of my favourite images from the Vogue shoot:
The 42-year-old mother of four has a greyhound called Freud, see, I told you she was posh. And was easily the best-dressed at this year’s Met Gala. Not difficult, I know. But at least she looked authentic.

Check out those earrings.
OH! The video is fanTASTIC! I'm going out to buy Harpers RIGHT NOW. Good to see Stella coming out of the shadows more, she's obviously intelligent and articulate – why doesn't she have a blog??!
