Feel-good fashion: updating old favourites

Knowing Your Style occasionally involves the introduction of updated versions of old favourites. And yes, that’s another way of saying, ‘I have bought some new clothes’. The items are similar to (but not the same as) my old clothes and hence create an instant, winning combination. That’s no nonsense, Faff-Free shopping. Because. When an outfit works, keep wearing it.

Continuing the ‘Clothes that you feel confident in’ theme, here are three new versions of old favourites I always feel-good in. The go-everywhere jumpsuit, the versatile polo neck and the timeless Chelsea boot. Win, win, win.

It’s helpful to have a uniform of sorts. Which means it’s New Year, New Jumpsuit (again). The gorgeous, olive green, corduroy onesie is from Spry Workwear. The polo neck is organic cotton jersey from Muji. There I was in-store, doing a bit of Economy KonMarie research when a selection of stripey tops called me over. The versatile, jersey polo neck is so handy for layering at this time of year, I purchased two different colourways. New favourites that may or may not be folded neatly into squares in the t-shirt drawer; things are not looking quite as tidy as they did on the second of January…

Now. About the rakish, suede Chelsea boots. Being a lover of Scandi Cool, (I have a couple of pairs of Acne jeans, a lightweight summer blazer and a pair of knackered old Pistol Boots) when Farfetch asked me to choose a gift from the new Acne Studios spring collection, the sandy coloured boots seemed like a neat way to give the Khaki Malarkey in my closet a new spin. Employing the one-in, one out rule, a pair of old shoes and a lightweight jumpsuit will be dropped off at the charity shop this weekend.

And, sandy boots on sunny days, of course.

Khaki and sand

Updating old favourites and buying clothes you love and will wear till they fall apart always makes good style sense.
