M&S get it right
At last! M&S has come up with an ad campaign that actually makes me want to shop there. The Art of Autumn featuring gorgeous, grey-haired model Eveline Hall is chic, simple and spot on (just don’t let Sue Kreitzman near all that beige). This is the kind of thing that grown-up women want to see, not cringeworthy images of Helen Mirren sailing down the Thames in a jaunty cap or Doreen Lawrence slumped in a field.
It looks like M&S is getting back to good quality basics, too: cashmere sweaters, silk blouses, great coats are all available for autumn, and the Autograph range is looking particularly lovely. For the last couple of winters, I’ve been willing M&S to run a simple, navy cashmere polo neck, seems they’ve finally got the message.
