Hilary Robertson

Now seems like a good time to post more lovely photos from the Style Forever New York launch party. Taken by Denton Taylor, the pictures show some of New York’s finest and I’m delighted they could attend. At the top, interiors stylist and author Hilary Robertson who helped make the party happen by introducing me to Michele Varian and her amazing store. I really couldn’t have asked for a better venue. Thank you, Michele and Hilary:

The FABulous Debra Rapoport came along, unfortunately, it was so busy we didn’t have chance to have a chat. Hopefully, we’ll catch up next time I’m in New York. I love Debra’s advice, ‘I don’t believe in age-appropriate dress. Just make your personal statement and feel confident about it.’

We’ve made a quick pit stop in London – just enough time to put some washing on – before nipping over to Bristol, for New Year. I am really enjoying the Digital Detox (though you can still find me on Instagram HERE), an abundance of prosecco, and the opportunity to catch up with friends. It’s been a big, busy year and it’s good to recharge the batteries.

Happy New Year! See you in 2016.

  1. Happy New Year, Alyson. I hope the New Yorkers liked your book. They should, as yours is one of the best style books I’ve read and I’ve read a lot! All the best for 2016 x

  2. Just lovely photos! Wish I’d been there. Thanks for posting these. They brought a smile to my face as I look out at the grey, mid-western snowy day. In no way will I ever feel the need to dress “age appropriate”!

  3. Good luck with your wonderful book.
Interesting seeing so many different expressions of personal style.
    Would I wear them ?
Only two: Yours Alyson is the epitome of classic European chic .

And the lady in yellow tights and red checked whatever looks great , love everything about her.

  4. Greetings from Canada:) I love your site! The gold shoes you were wearing came from where? I have been trying to find a new pair of gold stacked heels forever. Love your work and congratulations on all success. xob

  5. OK, Hilary Robertson is really talented and I love her look – very Ralph Lauren. Alyson, you look elegant and chic as always…

  6. If that’s real fur those ladies are wearing, somebody needs to show them some heart-breaking pictures of the fur industry. There is nothing glamorous about cruelty.

  7. Melissa and Robin – I think Hilary is wearing faux fur but have removed the picture of Debra and replaced it with one from Advanced Style. I agree with you about fur, I would never wear it and do not want to show it on my site.
