Help, I’m wearing a fleece!
First chic hiking boots, now a fancy fleece. I’ve always liked my fashion with a side order of functionality. Or maybe I’m embracing sports casual because Alan Partridge is back on the box. Ah-ha…
The Guardian is calling the return of the fleece, Warm Core. And the newspaper reminded me that on washing, a synthetic fleece releases microfibres into the water. To be perfectly honest this is an issue I hadn’t considered when snapping up my YMC half-price, sale bargain; but as with my vintage faux fur coats from the 1950s and 60s, this fleece has got staying power. The eye-catching colour and leopard print elevate the outdoor essential, it’s great to pull on over a pair of white jeans and velvet slippers (another sale bargain from LK Bennett, RIP. Try Le Monde Beryl for similar). Oh and for the record, I will not be washing or dry cleaning this cosy-as-you-like-coverup. I wear the fleece over a long sleeve t-shirt, so not being slovenly, just trying to be practical.

Surprisingly I love the look; although in theory without a picture it would sound horrible But tell me, Alyson, are those slippers easy to walk in? I love them but wondered if I’d ‘walk out’ of them and if they would make me waddle as they are so flat?
