The chic collarless coat
I’ve been thinking about collarless coats. And this has nothing to do with the Kate Effect, more the Grace Effect (Coddington, I mean). From the Golden Age of Couture to Céline, pointy courts to skate shoes, the collarless cover-up looks perenially chic.

It’s best to avoid Collar Chaos by wearing the cocoon coat with a round neck top underneath. The midlife crisis jacket is collarless and looks much neater with a clean neckline and no collar peeking out. Or a scarf tucked in. Even Garance Doré gets it wrong sometimes…

These are beautiful…usually I prefer a collar…but I would wear any of these…they are so chic and just take anything up a notch!
My camel coat from Next which I've had years is collarless and I love it, it's a great look x
I love all of these especially the winter one, however having a long neck means I would be tucking a scarf into the neckline. The collarless coat is instant chic, but it has to be your thing, I guess!
I agree. very chic. I have a lovely navy one actually it has a small stand collar but nearly there.
For years I was against the collarless coat – it's a coat I want it to warm my neck but have come around to loving the clean cut look as you say. I got one last Winter in grey with a yummy texture and just love it to bits. I think it works with a scarf either a light one or the full double wrap for maximum warmth.
I saw that photo of the orange L K Bennett coat in the winter and have been pining for it ever since. But I've looked and looked for something similar to no avail. So I found a great anorak style jacket from Theory…and now I'm all about the jacket! If you can't be with the one you love…love the one you're with. Or something like that.

I'm loving the term 'collar chaos' – sums up that awkward bunched up mess perfectly! I just love the clean lines of a collarless coat…so flattering to wear.
Love collarless everything!! Not sure why. I cut the collar off every shirt, jacket, etc. that come my way! The last pic looks just like a jacket I recently did surgery on. 🙂
saw a girl in a very smart matalicy-woven silver-blue one, worn with jeans and converse, the other day and was prompted to stop and compliment her so utterly fabulous did she look!!
