The round-the-block queues, the online frenzy, I prefer to let the brouhaha around a fashion collaboration die down and then nip in-store for a quick shifty. At the weekend, I popped into Liberty to look at the range for Uniqlo. Conclusion: the shirts and shirtdresses are best, the t-shirts and jersey hoodies look sloppy and if the idea of a floral print quilted jacket or pair of short culottes is appealing, then, you’re in luck. Down the road at & Other Stories things were looking up; the glittery shoes, the pyjama shirt and stripy sweater may have sold out but Rodarte’s Mulleavy sisters have ensured that there’s enough seventies-inspired glitz and glamour to go round. There are still some lovely bits and pieces from the Rodarte for & Other Stories collaboration left. Like it’s Swedish sister brand COS, & Other Stories is doing something that appeals to women of all ages. Chic grown-up stuff that’ll add interest to any outfit. And, on the subject of collaborations, I’m really enjoying having expert beauty writer Vicci Bentley and features editor Elaine Kingett contributing to That’s Not My Age; hope you are, too.
